Biography
Bill Owen has been around dogs his whole life. He has owned dogs, gone on vacation with dogs, house sat dogs, cared for dogs, played with dogs. When he sees a dog out for a walk with its owner, he routinely crosses the street – dashing between traffic if necessary – to meet a new dog! This is a guy with a soft spot for your dog.
Bill's photography talent, his love for dogs, patience with dogs, and his acceptance of all things dog related, make him ideally suited to take memorable portraits of dogs.
In recent years Bill's landscape photographs have been exhibited by a prominent Manhattan art dealer. No less a judge of artistic talent than J. Carter Brown (1934-2002), Director, 1969-1992, National Gallery of Art, Washington, DC, wrote this about Bill’s artwork, “Your photographs are spectacular.”
Bill currently maintains a website devoted to his landscape photography: www.billowen.info. He intends to publish a book of dog portraits soon.
